On the afternoon of December 27, GMC held the Annual Work Conference 2022. The conference was presided over by Liu Yugui, Deputy General Manager of GMC. Chen Dejun, Secretary of the CPC Committee of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangzhou Municipal Government and Director of the Commission, and Wang Hongwei, Secretary of the Leading Party Group of Guangzhou Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau and Director of the Bureau, attended the conference. Members of the GMC leadership team, senior executives, members of the Auditor's Office, chiefs of departments and offices, secretaries of Party committees and chairmen of directly affiliated enterprises of GMC, secretaries of Party committees and chairmen of directly affiliated enterprises of subsidiaries such as Guangzhou Municipal Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Engineering Contractor Group Co., Ltd., China Guangzhou International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Design Institute Group Co., Ltd., Jinbo Group, and Guangzhou Institute of Building Science Group Co., Ltd., representatives of outstanding collectives and individuals, representatives of advanced collectives and individuals for epidemic prevention and control attended the conference in the main venue of auditorium on the 8th floor of the GMC Building. Members of the leadership team of subordinate enterprises, heads of administrative and publicity departments, deputy leaders and assistants of offices and departments of the headquarters attended the conference at the branch venue via video link.

Zhang Yujiang, General Manager of GMC, delivered a report on production and operation in 2022 entitled "Boosting Confidence, Forging Ahead with Courage, Improving Quality and Efficiency and Promoting High-quality Development". He reviewed and summarized the work of GMC in 2022 from nine aspects, including market expansion, production safety, enterprise management, technological innovation, intelligent construction, industrial investment, real estate and property, rectification of specific problems, risk prevention and control. He also made arrangements for the work in 2023, and put forward requirements such as strengthening market expansion, implementing engineering projects with high quality, enhancing presence in real estate and property, deepening reform and reorganization, enhancing strength in intelligent construction, promoting technological innovation, improving development quality, building industrial parks, and preventing and controlling risks.

In order to encourage GMC cadres and staff to build on the existing achievements and seek greater success, 24 organizations such as the Party-Masses Work Department of the Group were awarded the title of 2022 Outstanding Collective, and 264 cadres and staff members, including Huang Junfeng and Zhang Xiting, won the 2022 Outstanding Individual Award.

In the critical stage of epidemic prevention and control in 2022, GMC Party members, cadres and staff defied hardships and dangers and fought day and night to win the fight of epidemic prevention and control with practical actions and results, showing both strength and courage.

In order to commend pioneers, establish role models, and encourage GMC Party members, cadres and staff to accomplish their mission in a right way, 16 organizations including Guangzhou Municipal Group were awarded the title of 2022 "GMC Pioneer" Advanced Collective for Voluntary Service against COVID-19. 410 comrades including Gong Wenchao were awarded the title of 2022 "GMC Pioneer" Advanced Individual for Voluntary Service against COVID-19. A total of 31 organizations including the Engineering Division of Guangzhou Construction Co., Ltd. were awarded the title of 2022 Advanced Collective in the Construction of GMC Epidemic Prevention Emergency Projects. 341 comrades including Lu Dehui were awarded the title of 2022 Advanced Individual in the Construction of GMC Epidemic Prevention Emergency Projects.

Liang Huqing, Secretary of the CPC Committee of GMC and Chairman of GMC, made the 2022 Annual Work Report entitled "Stabilizing Growth, Promoting Development and Improving Performance". From 11 aspects of promoting Party building, implementing strict discipline inspections, rectifying problems, stabilizing production, expanding the market, striving for excellence, promoting intelligent construction, promoting brands, cultivating talent, preventing risks, and improving people's livelihood, he reviewed the main work in 2022, analyzed the existing problems and difficulties, made a situation analysis, and made arrangements for the 2023 work according to the GMC blueprint. He also required efforts on "3456", that is, three enhancements: enhancing Party building, enhancing clean corporate governance, and enhancing team building; four measures: expanding the market, optimizing regional layout, strengthening project performance, and implementing acquisition and reorganization; five capabilities: improving capabilities in winning awards, intelligent construction, enterprise qualifications, safe development, risk prevention and control; six practical outcomes: increasing employee income, continuing to organize cultural and sports activities, deepening continuing education training, playing the role of labor unions in providing support services, continuing to carry out paired assistance, and continuing to promote industry assistance projects for Xinjiang.

Wang Hongwei, Secretary of the Leading Party Group of Guangzhou Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau and Director of the Bureau, spoke highly of GMC's work in recent years, especially in 2022. In accordance with the guidelines of "preventing the epidemic, stabilizing the economy, and achieving safe development", GMC has made outstanding contributions to Guangzhou's economic development and urban construction, especially the epidemic prevention. He expressed his willingness to fully support the development of GMC and put forward four requirements for GMC from the perspective of industry supervision: In the face of the favorable macroeconomic conditions, GMC should take the initiative to make up for its shortcomings and increase advantages, as well as continue to act as the main force of Guangzhou's urban and rural development, the leader of Guangzhou's digital construction, and the leader of Guangzhou's construction industry.

Chen Dejun, Secretary of the CPC Committee of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangzhou Municipal Government and Director of the Commission, fully affirmed GMC's contribution to the development of state-owned assets and enterprises in Guangzhou in 2022. First, GMC has strengthened the overall leadership of the Party and made positive and significant contributions to the economic and social development of Guangzhou. Second, GMC has achieved growth against the trend in terms of major economic indicators. Third, GMC has played a prominent role in serving the overall development, especially in epidemic prevention and control. He also put forward three requirements for the future work of GMC: First, GMC should thoroughly study, publicize and implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and the Central Economic Work Conference to realize high-quality development. Second, GMC should assume its responsibility as a vanguard state-owned enterprise that "always serves the national economic and social development" and continue to make greater contributions to Guangzhou's economic development. Third, GMC should coordinate epidemic prevention and control, safe production and stability maintenance.

All enterprises and departments are required to conscientiously study and implement the guiding principles of the conference. In 2023, they must unite more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, thoroughly study, publicize and implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress. Under the strong leadership of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality, and under the specific guidance of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangzhou Municipal Government and Guangzhou Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, GMC will forge ahead with enterprise and fortitude to fully, accurately and comprehensively implement the new development concept, complete annual tasks, push for higher quality and reasonable growth of the economy, and make greater contributions to the economic and social development of Guangzhou for it to promote urban revitalization and the "Four Excellence & Innovation Campaigns".
